Ilan Sandler, MFA, AOCAD, BSc

For more than twenty years, Ilan has worked with organizations world-wide within the arts, tech, and transportation sectors. In 2017 he formed AvenewAi to perform R&D within his company: Sandler Consultancy. Together, he and his team have created, piloted, and commercially deployed AI enabled machine vision systems for clients in the transportation and infrastructure sectors. Between his business consultancy and technology development work he continues to provide a range of services enhancing the growth of sustainable transportation and infrastructure development in Europe and North America.
Stephen Kelly PhD, MSc, BFA

Stephen Kelly is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Computing and Software at McMaster University. He received his PhD in computer science from Dalhousie University and completed an NSERC post-doctoral fellowship at the BEACON Center for the study of Evolution in Action at Michigan State University. He also has a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the Nova Scotia College of Art and Design. In 2022 he was a visiting researcher at Google Brain. Stephen’s research focuses on nature-inspired machine learning and genetic programming in predictive control environments, with a particular interest in how emergent forms of memory and hierarchy allow digital evolution to build programs in dynamic, partially-observable, and multi-task environments.

Una Lounder
Product Specialist
Una Lounder is a Researcher with Sandler Consultancy and Project Manager for AvenewAi. Una leads market research and business development for new products. Una represented Canada as a National Team athlete in sprint kayak for over 10 years. She has pursued a career in the sport and nonprofit sector, working as Communications Lead at the Canadian Sport Centre Atlantic, and most recently, as the Executive Director for Fast and Female. Una is a recent graduate of the MMIE (Master’s of Management Innovation and Entrepreneurship) Program at the Smith School of Business at Queen’s University where she also earned certificates in Social Impact and Disruptive Technologies.
Cece Lounder
Product Specialist
Cece is a Product Specialist with Sandler Consultancy and AvenewAi. Cece works directly with our clients to customize our product development to meet our client's needs. She leads our project training and client on-boarding for all Avenew systems, structuring operations flow and overseeing compliance. She brings her project management and operations experience from residential and commercial real estate to our product team. She also has experience with brand development, marketing and social media campaigns for product development. Cece has a Masters degree in marine ecology with experience developing research protocols, collecting data, and publishing results for resource management and conservation initiatives.
